Hyderabad: The Telangana Irrigation Department opened the four gates of the Nagarjunasagar dam in the Nalgonda district on Wednesday, following a few-week hiatus. After hurricane Montha’s influence caused significant inflows to the dam from the Krishna River’s catchment areas, a decision was made to this effect. Because 32,192 cusecs of water would be released from the gates, the department has advised residents downstream to exercise caution.
