Chhattisgarh: Naxal IED Blast Injures Jawan

Raipur: Maoists detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in a forest in Sukma district under south Bastar in Chhattisgarh on Thursday, injuring a jawan of the district reserve guard (DRG), according to police. According to authorities, the event happened at approximately one o’clock in the afternoon while a group of DRG soldiers were carrying out an area dominance operation on a wooded hill next to the recently constructed Gogunda security camp. Muchika Durga, a DRG jawan, stepped on the Maoist-planted IED, causing it to explode. He was evacuated to Raipur for medical care after suffering severe injuries in the event.
