Dhaka: The Indian women’s kabaddi team defeated Chinese Taipei 35–28 on Monday to win the World Cup for the second time in a row. In a competition with eleven nations, India won. Among the many who praised the women’s squad for the outstanding accomplishment was Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Congratulations to our Indian Women’s Kabaddi Team for winning the Kabaddi World Cup 2025 and making the country proud! Unbeaten Throughout the competition, India was in outstanding form. They had advanced to the summit match after defeating Iran 33-21. In contrast, hosts Bangladesh were defeated 25–18 by Chinese Taipei in the semifinals. Amit Shah, the home minister, was also quick to congratulate the winning team.

Former India captain Ajay Thakur added: “Their overwhelming run to the final and winning the title demonstrates how much women’s kabaddi has progressed in the last few years.
“It is also a testament to the global appeal of the sport, with Bangladesh hosting the World Cup, and I hope that this momentum continues in the years to come,” he stated.
