Union Home Minister Amit Shah has praised their choice and reaffirmed his government’s pledge to eradicate Naxalism by March next, as an increasing number of red insurgents have indicated their want to integrate into society.
“Over the past two days, 258 left-wing militants who have been honed by war have refrained from using violence. I support their choice to put their faith in the Indian Constitution and to forgo violence. Because of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unrelenting efforts to put an end to the threat, Naxalism is dying,” Shah said on Thursday.
Our stance is unambiguous: anyone who wishes to give up is welcome, and those who keep using firearms will face the fury of our troops. Once more, I urge those who continue down the Naxalist path to put down their guns and integrate into society. Before March 31, 2026, we are determined to eradicate naxalism,” he said.
