Gullshan Film Desk: To bring Pushpa 2: The Rule to Japan, distributors Geek Pictures and Shochiku have partnered with Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. The record-shattering movie, starring Icon Star Allu Arjun in the lead, will hit Japanese theatres on January 16, 2026 under the title Pushpa Kunrin. The announcement was given with a Japanese greeting – “Konnichiwa, Nihon no Tomo yo” (Hello, friends of Japan). Alongside gorgeous new posters showcasing the hero’s swaggering Pushpa Raj, a specially dubbed Japanese video was released.
Already proclaimed a “industry hit” after its huge international debut in five Indian languages on December 5, 2024, Pushpa 2 is a sequel. Reports last year stated the makers sought to add a “international flavor to the narrative,” originally aiming to shoot large segments in such a way that the film’s reach expanded beyond India’s borders. The film is directed by Sukumar.
Bunny has modestly and repeatedly denied the recognition he garnered for his performance, claiming that his director is responsible for the “entire success, the entire credit belongs to one man.” Devi Sri Prasad composed the soundtrack for the movie. Fahadh Faasil portrays a cop. One of the highlights of the Jathara episode was Rashmika Mandanna’s performance with the hero. Y Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni are producers of Pushpa 2.
