Riyadh: On December 8, Saudi Arabia will host a cancer awareness event that the government and corporate sector have promised to fund. 10KSA’s 2025 campaign urges members of the public to construct lavender ribbons-signifying cancer awareness-and share them on social media with a comment about how they are living healthier lifestyles.
Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud, founder of 10KSA, said in a statement: “We are grateful to all those participating in, and offering their generous support of, 10KSA’s 2025 campaign. “On Monday December 8, 2025, join us by making a Lavender Ribbon wherever you are. Together for health, let’s create a better future for our loved ones and ourselves.
The ministry of education activated schools’ engagement throughout regions and governorates through a package of activities aimed at educating pupils about healthy lifestyles. This year’s events and activities coincide with various donations from public and private entities.
In the Aseer region, 10,000 lavender bushes are being planted, in partnership with the ministry of environment, water, and agriculture, represented by Morooj, along with other partners.
Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti, deputy minister of MEWA and head of the board of trustees of Morooj, said: “Environmental sustainability is an extension of caring for human health and quality of life. This program seeks to improve the Kingdom’s environment and increase public knowledge of health and environmental issues.
The Saudi Camel Federation, meanwhile, is demonstrating its support by building a beautiful Lavender Ribbon arrangement featuring camels.
Through the 10KSA Step Challenge, which invites communities to take 10,000 steps daily for a chance to win amazing prizes, the Saudi Sports for All Federation is urging everyone to exercise more from December 7–9.
Internationally, the campaign is gathering steam, with Saudi embassies across the world organizing awareness-raising activities, and Saudi students disseminating 10KSA messaging on universities in the US.
Safe Hands for Girls is collaborating with the National Control Program in The Gambia and throughout West Africa to mobilize women, young people, and medical professionals to conduct health checks in local communities.
Al-Ahli versus Al-Qadsiah in the ninth round of the Roshn Saudi League, the King’s Cup match between Al-Ittihad Club and Al-Shabab, and a real estate exhibition called Cityscape Global 2025 are just a few of the public engagement events that Roshn Group has organized in advance of activation day to raise awareness for all cancers.
Roshn Group’s activities continue with the approaching lavender ribbon formation at the group’s premises, as well as the lavender-planting effort taking place in its destinations, Roshn Front in Riyadh, and Roshn Waterfront in Jeddah, from Dec. 4-6.
On December 8, 10KSA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Ministerial Committee for Health in All Policies, is requesting that everyone share a picture or video of their lavender ribbon along with a statement highlighting the health-related actions they are taking. Tag @10KSA2025 and use #10KSA.
