Hyderabad: Annapurna Studios and Ramanaidu Studios have received notifications from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for allegedly underreporting their business areas in order to avoid paying trade licence fees. Officials claim that although Annapurna Studios operates on 1,92,000 square feet, it only pays taxes on 8,100 square feet. The studio allegedly paid only ₹49,000 instead of the required ₹11,52,000.
According to officials, Ramanaidu Studios was also required to pay ₹2,73,000 but only paid ₹7,600. The GHMC has asked both studios to explain the differences.
