ADILABAD: Early on Wednesday morning, a tiger was spotted on the fringes of Sathmori village in Sirikonda mandal of Adilabad district. The people were alarmed when they saw the tiger roaming close to agricultural areas. Mesram Bojju, a farmer, reportedly saw the tiger close to his field and discovered that it had murdered his calf. He informed the forest department employees right away.
Since then, animal trackers and forest officials have started keeping an eye on the tiger’s movements. The tiger may have migrated in the direction of the Pembe Forest Range, according to preliminary reports. Two days ago, the tiger is thought to have crossed National Highway 44 from the Neredigonda region into Sirikonda Mandal. According to reports, the animal entered the Pembe Range after passing via the Thandra Forest Range.
In an effort to track the tiger, members of HyTICOS (Hyderabad Tiger Conservation Society) have set up video traps. In order to warn and inform the people about the tiger’s presence and safety precautions, Sirichalma Forest Range Officer Nagawath Swamy and Section Officer Chandra Reddy are keeping a close eye on the issue and running awareness campaigns.
