Mahindra and Embraer Collaborate to Provide the Indian Air Force Fleet With The C-390 Millennium

New Delhi: To promote its C-390 Millennium aircraft for the Indian Air Force’s Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) program, the Mahindra Group has partnered strategically with Brazilian aerospace giant Embraer.

The partnership intends to provide the Indian Air Force with a “modern and reliable” military transport solution while establishing India as a future center for cutting-edge aerospace manufacturing, according to Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, who announced the arrangement on X on Saturday.
Mahindra referred to the C-390 Millennium as “the most modern aircraft in its class” because it can travel farther than most medium-sized transport planes, carry up to 26 tonnes of payload, and reach speeds of 470 knots.

According to Mahindra, the aircraft can carry out a variety of tasks, including airdrop operations, medical evacuations, firefighting, humanitarian missions, and the transportation of troops and supplies. “It can operate from temporary or unpaved runways,” he remarked, referring to it as a “benevolent brute.” Additionally, the aircraft can be set up for air-to-air refueling as a receiver or tanker.
With intentions to expand local production and technology transfer, Mahindra and Embraer will collaborate on marketing and industrialization initiatives under the deal.

The partnership symbolizes how India and Brazil are emerging together in the global aviation arena, Mahindra added. “Together with Embraer, we are working to make India a global hub for advanced aerospace manufacturing,” Mahindra said.
