Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has been instructed by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to carry out a LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) assessment of the lakes, nalas, and other bodies of water under its control right away.
He claimed that only when thorough data is available can disagreements over building permits be avoided and encroachments stopped.
Officials are strictly warned about delays.

Revanth Reddy mentioned that the Irrigation Department officers had been the subject of multiple complaints about clearance blockage. He issued a warning that such behavior would not be tolerated.

The chief minister emphasized that accountability in government must be guaranteed and instructed the Municipal Administration Secretary to identify the people who were causing the delays and turn them over right away.
The importance of interdepartmental coordination
He directed GHMC, HYDRAA, and irrigation officials to hold frequent review sessions with HMDA in order to expedite clearances. According to him, processing applications in a timely and transparent manner is essential for urban development.
Commissioners from HMDA, GHMC, HYDRAA, and other senior officials attended the review meeting, which was hosted at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat.
