New Delhi: On Monday, August 18, 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave Prime Minister Narendra Modi an update on his summit discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
Three days after the high-profile summit in Alaska that ended without a ceasefire agreement, Mr. Putin called Mr. Modi.
After the phone chat, Mr. Modi stated that India has continuously advocated for a peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine and backs all initiatives aimed at achieving this goal.
In a social media post, the prime minister thanked his buddy, President Putin, for his phone call and for sharing his thoughts on his recent meeting with President Trump in Alaska.
