New Delhi: A massive Neem tree fell on a car in the Kalkaji neighborhood of the national capital on Thursday amid the unrelenting rains in Delhi-NCR. A woman was spotted being entangled and attempting to release herself as the tree toppled over multiple cars, and a man was reported dead.
According to an official who spoke to news agency PTI, the incident happened in Kalkaji’s B Block, where the enormous tree was uprooted due to heavy rainfall that had been falling since late Wednesday evening.
On social media, a number of footage of the incident surfaced. In one of these videos, a woman was stranded beneath a tree, clinging to a trunk to keep herself safe.
A social media user claimed to have captured the moment of a biker’s death in another video. He lay lifeless beneath a massive tree.
A 50-year-old father and his daughter suffered critical injuries Thursday morning after a massive tree fell on their motorcycle during heavy rain in the Kalkaji region of southeast Delhi, according to a PTI story that quoted officials.
The event also caused damage to a number of nearby parked cars.
A father and daughter were riding through the area when the tree abruptly uprooted and fell on them, according to the police. Both of them suffered severe injuries in the collision and were taken to a local hospital for medical attention.
According to the PTI report, city authorities used a hydraulic crane to clear the road and remove the tree.
According to the officials, municipal authorities have been notified to evaluate the damage and perform the required pruning in the region in order to stop future occurrences.

Delhi is battered by heavy rains.
On Thursday morning, Delhi came to a complete halt due to heavy rain, which caused traffic jams and saturated roadways.
The ‘orange’ notice from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of further rain throughout the day.
The IMD reports that Safdarjung, Delhi’s main meteorological station, reported 13.1 mm of rainfall over the 24-hour period that ended at 8:30 am on Thursday. Aya Nagar recorded 57.4 mm, Palam 49.4 mm, Lodhi Road recorded 12 mm, Pragati Maidan recorded 9 mm, and Pusa recorded 5 mm.
Delhi’s minimum temperature dropped by 3.2 degrees Celsius to 23.6 degrees due to the rain. According to the IMD, the highest temperature is anticipated to hover around 32 degrees Celsius.
The Delhi Traffic Police used X to alert motorists to areas that were flooded.
Traffic on Old GT Road is probably going to be badly impacted because of the waterlogging that has been caused by the recent rains in GTK Depot, Jahangirpuri, and Adarsh Nagar. “Commuters are asked to plan ahead or take alternative routes in order to avoid traffic on Old GT Road,” the article explained.
