A UP Roadways bus strikes a tree in Bharatpur, injuring 25 people

Bharatpur: An Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus travelling from Agra to Jaipur in Rajasthan lost control and struck a tree on the highway near Talaiya Baba near Banchharen village in Bharatpur in the afternoon on Saturday, injuring at least 25 people, 11 of them are critically.

According to the police, there were sixty people on the bus. The bus was speeding when the driver abruptly lost control, hitting the tree, according to Kherli Mod police station assistant sub-inspector Mahesh Chand. The impact was so strong that passengers were flung from their seats and the front part of the vehicle was entirely destroyed.
“Every seat in the bus was taken, and some people were standing up. The crash also injured the conductor and driver. According to preliminary investigations, the accident occurred as a result of the driver losing control of the bus owing to excessive speed. Following receipt of the information, the Kherli Mod police arrived on the scene and, with the assistance of locals, rescued the injured passengers,” Chand added.

He added that the injured travellers were sent right away to Mahua’s government hospital. Eleven critically injured passengers received first attention and were sent to Jaipur since their condition was critical; the other passengers were released. To get traffic moving again on the freeway, police dragged the bus away. He stated that an inquiry has been started and that the injured people’s families have been notified.
