New Delhi: The defendants, Arun from Sonipat and Ravindra, also known as Kallu, from Rohtak, were found to be part of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang. After suffering severe injuries during a firefight with UP STF, they passed away in the hospital.
Following a run-in with police on Wednesday near Tronica City in Ghaziabad, two wanted gunmen who were engaged in the shooting at actor Disha Patani’s home in Bareilly were murdered. The defendants, who went by the names Ravindra alias Kallu and Arun, were wanted in several criminal cases and were involved in the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang.
After being seen riding the identical motorcycle that was used in the shooting outside Patani’s residence on September 12, the gunmen were apprehended. Both were seriously injured in a shooting that resulted from a coordinated operation by the Delhi Police, Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF), and Haryana STF. According to a statement from the police, they later passed away in the hospital from their wounds.
Shortly after the incident, the Goldy Brar gang took to social media to claim responsibility for the firing, claiming that the Patani family had insulted Sanatana Dharma by making disparaging remarks about saints Premanand Maharaj and Anidruddhacharya Maharaj.
According to authorities, Disha Patani’s father, retired police officer Jagdish Patani, was at home when the attackers attacked him. The FIR states that on September 12, at approximately 3:30 am, Jagdish Patani’s dogs warned him of two guys riding a motorcycle close to his balcony. One of the attackers said, “Kill him,” before shooting him when he inquired who they were. Patani managed to hide behind a balcony pillar and escape unscathed. Two airborne shots were among the numerous bullets that were fired.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally spoke with Jagdish Patani after the incident, instructing police to investigate the case as soon as possible. Bareilly police then filed a complaint. Following an analysis of CCTV footage and crime statistics from neighboring states, security was stepped up around the Patani residence, which resulted in Wednesday’s encounter.
From the scene of the incident, police found a Glock handgun, a Zigana handgun, and multiple rounds.According to officials, more research is being done to find more people connected to the gang.
